Congregation Schomre Israel has served the Jewish community of the scenic Mid-Hudson area for more than 120 years. Guests, as well as our members, enjoy the congenial atmosphere of our services and social activities. At Schomre, we cater to the spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of Jews of all ages.

Schomre Israel fulfills the three major functions necessary for a Jewish congregation; it is a house of worship, of study, and for assembly. Daily, Shabbat and YomTov services are conducted in our beautiful sanctuary. Study sessions and lectures are provided by the Rabbi, the Rebbitzin, as well as distinguished guest speakers and scholar-in-residence programs. Social activities include Kiddushim and both holiday and special event dinners prepared by the Sisterhood. Additionally we are part of the larger Jewish  community in Poughkeepsie and Dutchess county which allows our members to participate in and share in community programs such as Mitzvah Day (day of service program), Israel Independence Day celebrations, along with lectures and events sponsored by the local colleges and the Jewish Federation.

We invite you and your family to join our congregational family – become “mishpocha” and experience the warmth of the Schomre Israel community. To arrange a visit to the shul please call the office at (845)454-2890.
